NACCS (National Association for Chicana & Chicano Studies) Tejas Foco Conference held at the University of Texas, Pan-American in 2013. A logo and identity was created for the conference along with digital and print material such as programs, posters, postcards, promotional shirts and totes to be distributed to attendees.
The overall look is intended to be clean and modern with a nod to a revolutionary attitude that is common in the chicano movement. Inspiration was taken from old Mexican newspaper prints. These announce information to the viewer with a sense of urgency and importance, which is what we tried to convey in our design. By combining bright, bold colors and thick sans serifs with jagged and distressed details we were able to achieve the look we set out to create.
